Day 1, Tor Alden, Principal and Bobby Boyer, Director of Product development, will host a workshop focusing on best practices to launch a successful medical device start-up. Case studies and models will help create an understanding of best business practices for developing your IP, prototypes and regulatory files. This 2-hour workshop will focus on teaching user-centered design, design thinking, and research methodologies to help develop real-world requirements.
Day 2 will feature Mary Beth Privitera, Principal of Research & Human Factors will present best practices for risk management. Her talk will review the considerations of HFE and techniques to reduce device hazards and associated risks. The benefits directly correlate to ease of use elements such as: delivering information in a timely and comprehensible manner, providing feedback of dangerous situations along with knowledge of what actions need to be taken to avoid this situation.
